Mark has spent his working life at the meeting point of medicine and mystery. A registered nurse by training, he holds a Masters in Medical Cannabis Science and Therapeutics from the University of Maryland School of Pharmacy, where he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and he worked in the ketamine home-therapy space with KetaMD.

The other half of his education did not happen in a classroom. Mark is a trained breathwork facilitator, and he has studied and received initiation in the ancient practices of the Q'ero people of the Peruvian Andes. His work bridges pharmacology and prayer, Western medicine and holistic modalities, without pretending they are the same thing or asking you to choose between them. His book, Hands Up, Big Smile, is the framework the programs draw from.

The New Mysteries is a religious organization, organized as a nonprofit corporation under the laws of the State of Delaware and operating as a church under Section 508(c)(1)(A) of the Internal Revenue Code. That structure is not decoration. It is what lets this work be held as ministry: sacred practice offered in a pastoral capacity, with the autonomy and the responsibility that come with it.

The church maintains its bylaws and ecclesiastical governance as part of its founding documents, operates with full religious, financial, and administrative autonomy, and adheres to the federal and state regulations that govern nonprofit religious organizations.
